Context
Wigs have historically functioned as status symbols, disguises, and tools of reinvention — from ceremonial use in ancient Egypt to contemporary fashion culture. This series reframes them as wearable pop-art sculptures: each piece amplifies texture, silhouette, and cultural reference while maintaining a celebratory, fashion-forward tone rather than slipping into costume or parody.

Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Xandra
Signal Cut — A sculpted bob interrupted by a chromatic rupture, where graphic contrast becomes identity. The headpiece functions as a visual accent—controlled, declarative, unapologetically artificial. Model: Xandra.
Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Grace
Chromatic Cloud — An afro-inspired volume fragmented into colour blocks and soft textures, hovering between softness and structure. The headpiece becomes a landscape of movement, memory, and playful distortion. Model: Grace.
Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Weiyu
Orbital Stack — A rhythmic accumulation of spherical forms, turning repetition into visual power. The headpiece exaggerates scale and balance, transforming the head into a graphic totem. Model: Weiyu.
Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Ella
Modular Halo — A geometric crown built from intersecting colour planes, framing the head as a constructed icon. The headpiece abstracts protection and status into a bold, pop-art silhouette. Model: Ella.
Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Rob
Static Surge — A high-contrast sculptural form suspended between sharpness and fragility. The headpiece reads as controlled chaos—precision disrupted by expressive tension. Model: Rob.
Wigging It Out — pop-art wig illustration, Brook
Optic Drift — A layered, wave-like construction blending retro volume with contemporary colour logic. The headpiece operates as a perceptual filter, bending identity through movement and hue. Model: Brook.
